Ask ten venues what a wedding costs and you'll get two prices and eight "it depends." That's not because venues are dishonest — it's because most venue pricing is structured to depend. 1. All-inclusive packages. One per-person price covers the room, catering, bar, linens, and staff. Convenient — and typically the most expensive path, because every service inside the package carries the venue's markup. Watch for per-person minimums that quietly set a price floor regardless of your actual guest count.

2. Room fee plus required vendors. A modest-looking room rate, but you must use the venue's caterer or bar service, often with a food-and-beverage minimum. The advertised price is the down payment; the required spend is the real price. Always ask: "What is the minimum total I could possibly pay here?"

3. Flat rental, bring your own vendors. One price for the space; you hire caterers, bar service, and vendors directly at their own prices. This model — ours — puts more planning in your hands and, for most couples, the least money in the venue's pocket. Vendor freedom is the single biggest budget lever in weddings, because you choose the price point of every service.
